Durham Escape Rooms opens in Whitby

Escape Rooms is a physical adventure game in which people are locked in a room with friends or strangers and have to use teamwork, logic, intuition and elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit.

DURHAM — Durham Escape Rooms, an interactive gaming experience for local adventure-seekers, held its grand opening last weekend.

It’s located at 1121 Dundas St. E. Unit 9, Whitby. It was previously slated to open last year at 1624 Charles St.

Escape Rooms is a physical adventure game in which people are locked in a room with friends or strangers and have to use teamwork, logic, intuition and elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit.

Cost to participate in an Escape Room challenge is $23 + HST/person. Hours of operation are 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursday and Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Corporate bookings are available by appointment for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
