Blue Jays Great Trade – Drew Storen for Ben Revere

Quite Simply what does Drew Storen means for Toronto…

baseball-stadium_408x272_Drew Storen, generally speaking, is a winner and including him in the Blue Jays already strong bullpen is an important part of fine-tuning the roster of a championship contender. By obtaining Storen, a right-handed reliever, they have acquired a lights-out closer with a .73 ERA and 29 saves in 31 options.

However, as impressive as Storen’s accolades may be there is a risk that he could fall apart given that, he permitted 14 acquired runs in 18 2/3 innings (6.75 ERA) and in reality, he was not having a great season as the team’s closer in 2015 until the  Jonathan Papelbon trade.

Ben Revere, on the other hand, batted .306 for the Blue Jays and his strong athleticism not only bolstered the team’s defence but, he added another dimension to their offense with his ability to get on base and advanced scoring positions with 176 steals in 645 career games.

Time will tell if next season will be a golden year for the Blue Jays advancing deeper into the playoffs and potentially winning the pennant. By adding Storen, the management team is actively engaged in putting the missing pieces in place to give the organization the best roster to win.Let's Go Blue Jays
