CLARINGTON — Light up the holiday season with the Bowmanville community tree lighting and moonlight magic evening on Friday, Dec. 4.
Historic downtown Bowmanville will be spreading Christmas joy with a free kids’ concert by children’s entertainers, Terri and Rick. There’s a carol singalong, and an expected visit by Santa himself. This year’s tree-lighting includes the choir from the Duke of Cambridge Public School in Bowmanville.
Festivities begin at the corner of King and Temperance streets at approximately 6 p.m. The main street shops are open until 10 p.m.
Free horse-drawn wagon rides, a quartet of strolling old-time carolers and shops with beautiful Christmas window displays are just a few of the highlights of the evening. Festive treats, including hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies and other snacks, will be available.
Admission and parking are free. Visitors are asked to take a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army collection at the Bank of Montreal parking lot.
