905 Business is looking for a Third Class Stationary Engineers to operate our co-generation plant with 2 wood fired combustors, boilers and 3 steam turbines with all auxiliary equipment. The plant is running on a 24 /7 day shift with 12 hour shifts. We are looking for a qualified third class stationary engineers with knowledge about applicable codes and standards including T.S.S.A. reg. 219-01 operating engineer and all applicable company procedures (endorsement of P.P.E. and OSHE).
Assist responsible shift engineer in operating equipment safely in order to achieve reliability, quality and output targets
Perform maintenance duties which includes inspecting, testing and/or repair on equipment and systems to ensure safe and reliable targets
Identify and troubleshoot adverse operating and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Flexible, independent and problem solving mind set
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Good physical condition
Qualification as a third class stationary or operating engineer in the province of Ontario
Knowledge of and experience with solid fuel burning combustors
Knowledge of and experience with continuous emission control and other environmental requirements
Operating Engineer: 1 year -Third Class Operating or Stationary Engineer Certificate issued by TSSA
The ideal candidate will have an operating certificate with one of millwright, electrician or instrumentation certificates.

We’re Logistics in Motion, one of Durham Region’s largest employers. We manage inventory, shipping and receiving for our sole customer, Loblaw’s Inc, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Working out of our refrigerated 1.2 million square ft. warehouse, we store, pick, and ship just about anything from grocery, perishable and frozen that you can find at your local grocery store.
A big part of our success comes from the quality of our people, especially the supervisors who keep an eagle eye on every detail. Now we’re looking to add some new supervisor who can keep our operations humming.
That’s where you come in
As our new Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll be involved in two major lines of work: logistics and personnel.
At the start of every shift you’ll consult managers and supervisors and figure out the day’s plan. Once you’ve got the details hammered out, you’ll be in charge of communicating and implementing that plan with your crew.
You’ll be in charge of inspections, health and safety, and keeping accurate records. Whether we’re shipping or receiving goods and materials, you’ll need to make sure that everything is going according to plan.
The other big part of this role involves staffing: training, and scheduling people to maximize your shift’s effectiveness. At any given time you’ll be managing between 10 and 40 people, so you’ll need to bring strong organizational and people skills to this role.
This also involves motivating people, and figuring out ways to help your team do their best. Sometimes that means putting people on the right jobs, or taking disciplinary action when things aren’t going so well. It always involves listening, communicating, and energizing your team to work together.
We’re looking for someone who’s great at the following:
Time management – whether it’s before, during, or after a shift, you know what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. You’re great at anticipating setbacks and working through obstacles.
Problem solving – you’ve always got a contingency plan, and know how to solve problems, even when they’re new and unexpected.
Communication – you’re great with people. You achieve clarity, and get everyone pulling in the same direction with ease.

Post-secondary degree preferred
Ability to work in a cold facility (ranging from 2 degrees C to minus 28 degrees C)
