All applicants for the Police Constable Recruit Position must meet the following basic requirements:

  • Valid OACP Certificate of Results
  • Canadian citizen or Permanent resident of Canada
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position
  • Successfully completed secondary school or approved equivalent to the Ontario education system
  • Good moral character
  • No criminal convictions where a pardon has not been granted
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence (class G) with no more than six demerit points
  • Vision standards as per the OACP
  • Hearing standards as per the OACP
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate and CPR certificate (Basic Rescuer Level C)

Applicants will be required to provide the following at their first appointment:

  • Valid OACP Certificate of Results
  • High School Transcripts and Diploma
  • Post Secondary School Transcripts and Degree or Diploma
  • Proof of Citizenship (Birth Certificate or Passport)
  • Driver’s license
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate and CPR certificate (Basic Rescuer Level C)
